April 16, 2025 marks the 11th anniversary of the Sewol ferry tragedy in South Korea.
Since that day in 2014, my life—like many others—has changed in ways I never imagined.
That year made me ask myself, “Does living this fiercely really mean anything?”
It made me pause and look back on my life. I remember the countless sleepless nights, the tears that came without warning, and the deep, shared sorrow we all carried.
Back then, it felt like all I could do was pray.
Today, as I remember that day as vividly as ever, one song comes to mind:
"A Song That Harder Than a Prayer (기도보다 아프게)" by Lee Seung Yoon
This song seems to speak for every heart that faced the pain of the Sewol ferry disaster.
Track 10 of his album “The Shelter of Dreams (꿈의 거처)” is described as:

It’s a piece filled with the pain of all of us from 2014, a year too difficult even to mention by name.
